We meet together for 2 hours each week. We can not run through all songs and work on them at each rehearsal. Please spend at least 20 minutes of your own time each day singing through your own part with the recording. I guarantee you will be a better singer, will know your part better, and will be able to lead your section in choir.

Playing musical instruments/ singing creates more neuro-pathways between all parts and both hemispheres of the brain; even more than creating visual art or athletics! Making music through playing instruments and singing truly makes you smarter. Don't believe me? First, you need to make sure you are a solid leader in your own part. Sing along with your own part on the CD or with the recordings below. You should spend most of your time doing this. When you come to choir, you will hear the other parts, but you need to have your own part down pat first!
When you feel confident as a leader, change to the CD track that has both parts. Continue to sing along with your part while listening to the opposite part’s harmony. If you still feel you need a challenge, turn on the “other’ part. Continue to sing your part against the opposite part. Are you still solid, strong, and confident in your part? |
